“The camera is a continuation of my hand. Taking pictures is a way of life and a good type of drug”, says Vika Anisko, a young and talented photographer residing between Riga and London. Her shots are strong and full of contrast, impact and emotion. The POMPIDOO Team couldn’t miss a chance to meet Vika and share her story and a great deal of energy on our blog.

We’ve learned about Stylonylon blog and its founder Julia Rebaudo back in 2013 and stayed in touch ever since. A freelance journalist turned blogger, photographer and sometimes stylist and consultant, Julia has written for a wide range of print and online publications including Elle, Time Out and The Guardian. Totally obsessed with digital publishing and creating beautiful imagery, Julia is a UK ambassador for Olympus and shoot on the Olympus Pen E-P5 and Pen E-PL7 with 17mm & 45mm lenses, that why we were totally excited about her recent review of the POMPIDOO Lima bag. PERSONALITY – ALFIE GOODRICH, FOR WHOM PHOTOGRAPHY IS MORE THAN JUST TAKING PHOTOS

“My job is to inspire people; that’s why I teach photography as a language, or as a story”, says Alfie, as we talk about his move to Tokyo 8 years ago, his students, and his aspirations. Alfie’s calm and confident manner puts us at ease as we sip green tea in a beautiful gallery.

We met Bellamy during the Opening Event of the Latvian Design and Art Week in Tokyo. It was easy to spot him – if you read his JCH blog, you won’t have any trouble recognising the man with the tranquil gaze and amiable smile. We met again to talk about film, camera hunts and Japan.

PERSONALITY – Brendan Ó Sé

Brendan Ó Sé is an award-winning fine art photographer/iPhoneographer from Cork, Ireland. He won the Mira Mobile Photography Prize and has exhibited both his DSLR and iPhone images in Dublin, Miami and Porto. Brendan is part of the current Apple World Gallery of images shot on an iPhone.

Using either the iPhone or a DSLR, he tries to see and create in unusual ways and this results in some unique imagery and striking street photography. We’ve got a great chance to interview Brendan in our traditional Personality section on the POMPIDOO blog!

Personality – Andris Rubins

He is a public person. Never stands still, always creative and showing new sides of his personality. We know Andris Rubins as a Managing Director of the DDB Latvia, a local branch of the renowned international advertising agency. It’s fantastic that this time we can introduce him as a photographer with a keen eye on the beauty of Latvian nature.

Janis Ratnieks is a talented Latvian pro working in tandem with his wife Inese who turns Janis’ images into state of the art by retouching them in an exquisite and glamorous style.

The team is based in London and constantly travels the world for all kinds of exotic wedding venues including New Zealand, Mexico, Tunisia, Hong Kong and other. “I don’t care how I get there – some might think I’m lazy but I’m observing – some might think I’m crazy but I’m climbing that tree to get the angle right. That’s called dedication”, says Janis.
